The AI answer basically covered it real well.
It is also known as a flareup. When you start coughing hard or having shortness of breath. Then people get anxious about it, that makes it worse. So knowing what it is and what is happing is important.
You should stay calm. Put your odometer on your finger and see what your O2 levels are and what your Hr is. If it drops below 87% you should stop and do PLB. If you can not get your O2 numbers back up into the 90's within 5 minuets, you need to go to the hospital.
You should discuss with your pulmonologist what your "emergency plan" should be and when he thinks you should contact him or go to the hospital. Good to have a plan and explain it to people you live with.
I see you are new and newly diagnosed, but you have not shared any other information as to what kind, what stage, or any medications so hard to help you any further. When you get comfortable and feel like sharing some info about you, it would be nice if you filled out your profile/story and treatments so we can know more about you and your situation.
I’ve been there done that a few times at least,As mentioned above is to try remain Calm as Anxiety does make it more difficult to Breathe …..
Thank you!
