I currently live in a province that requires you have a prescription from a doctor to get Ventolin pumps. I have a prescription from a doctor so that's not a problem. The problem for me is that I use my pump more than the 2 doses a day it recommends...hence it runs out faster. Lately I have been getting grief from the pharmacist about getting my pump because the insurance only wants to cover once a month. fine...I used to get Ventolin pumps from a girl I knew in Spain. They sell it over the… read more
@shawnTry mail order with Maple Leaf meds. They are on line also.
My insurance will no longer cover Spiriva or Pro-Air after the first of the year. The alternatives to choose from will be Incruse Ellipta and for rescue..Ventolin or Xopenex. Anyone here using these at all?? Looking forward to your replies.... Thanks !!
For those who use rescue inhalers (i.e. Respimat, ProAir, Ventolin...how often do you use and how does it help you?

I would not care how often just as long as I am able to breath that’s I think most important.
I agree if the doctor does not know what a rescue inhaler is. Then time to look for someone else to treat you. I would start by getting a good pulmonary specialist.
Just my opinion only.... I read there has been no evidence inhalers actually help. In my case,4 so far harm. Going the homeopathic road which I believe will do more for me and prolong my life.
