It’s not unusual for friendships to form on MyCOPDTeam.com, and quite a few people form strong bonds and close ties. Occasionally we come across the story of people who meet in person. This is one of those stories.

Justine found out she has COPD in September 2014. She’d been to the doctor many times, received a few different diagnoses, and when she received the final diagnosis, she was shocked. Still trying to come to terms with her condition, she found MyCOPDTeam and discovered she wasn’t alone.

Meanwhile, Yolette was diagnosed in August 2014. After almost a year of chest infections, incorrect diagnoses of asthma and bronchitis, and trying antibiotics with nothing improving, she wound up in the hospital. Once she got out, she had a CT scan and was told she has emphysema. With that diagnosis, life changed. Gardening, walking the dogs, and other activities she enjoys have become quite challenging. Family and friends have difficulty understanding. When Yolette found MyCOPDTeam, she found amazing support and started developing friendships – and Justine was one of the people with whom a friendship began.
