Everyone is different, don,t be scared, if you start now, exercising, eating healthy, breathing exercises etc, using your meds properly, esp. Inhalers, you could stay at that stage for awhile. Many people have had copd for many years, look at people on this site, many had it for quite sometime. And they leading as full a life as they can, doing what they can to help themselves, keeping positive, so learn from them, many on this site can teach you how to live a full life, it does become a life with limitations, but one copes, compensates, finds new things to do.
