I Woud Like To Know How Others Suffer Through Panic Attacks And COPD
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have panic attacks along with COPD and sometimes I don't know which is the culprit at the moment. I am taking tudorza and symbicort, as well as buspirone and prozac for the anxiety and panic attack. My quality of life has diminished greatly and I. I sleep very well and use O2 at night. If I had a choice between COPD and the panic attacks I would choose COPD hands down. How do you handle this? I am hating life most of the time.

My first words are breathe- in thru the nose to 4 out thru the mouth to 8 calm down. When getting toward panic breathe it's calming and it get oxygen in and carbon out, so in 4 out 8 pursed lips. Breathing controlled and oxygen levels up your calm. Focus on numbers and breathing.

Are you having Panic attacks because of your breathing? I know I like air movement around me. I also do not like small places to confined. I think It's my breathing That is why I say breathe and it relaxes you and gets you thru crazy situations that is way the teach soldiers also.

I actually passed out in my sons car because I just could not get my breath. Doctor said I must try and not get panicky, easy to say when you are the one struggling to get your breath. Anyway they taught me how to breath when I panic. that is deep inhale breath and then blow out slowly through pursed lips. I tried and it does help. Just a suggestion. Try to keep calm too. As he says if I panic it makes it worse. So far so good. I live alone, and that makes me scared when I can't breathe.
