Why do you say the ones with a corticosteroid are a "no-no"? They're not; there are at least five different ones that are prescribed all the time. I've been on Advair since 2000. I've tried to get along without the steroid and it doesn't work. If you're wheezing, it's a clear sign you need the steroid. Call your doc and get back on it. If your doc is your family doc, find a good pulmonologist who really know what she's doing. Most family docs are good people wanting to do the right thing; they just don't know what the right thing is. FYI. this is very typical.
