I had several good friends, who both, as their disease progressed and they were less and less able to do the things they loved, decided that each day way going to have one activity, because that's all they had energy for. Whether it was meeting a friend for lunch, getting their hair or nails done, or going to the theater, they committed to things well in advance and planned their entire day around that one activity. Very often they planned a pajama day in between so they could rest up. Neither of them got to this point until maybe six months before they died, but it worked to keep them happy and upbeat about life.

I try not to make commitments, until the day. Usually if I am asked to go somewhere etc, or I usually say, 'I will let you know in the morning' most people understand by now that each day can be different, and in saying that I feel I am not letting anyone down, as I have not made the commitment to go/

well sometimes one has to do that, But, hopefully next time you will indeed feel strong enough to go, sometimes I just got to push myself to go out, and once I got the glam on, and dressed and ready to go, I feel yep, all good.

Sure. I had an appointment to have dinner with some high school friends but the day before wasn't feeling strong enough. So I just canceled.

Yes. I find it very difficult to commit in some situations and not knowing if I can be up and around is uncomfortable for me... especially with those who are not aware of my health situation.
