Hi,
I have to get a carbon monoxide level blood test. has anyone had this test if yes does it hurt.?

@A MyCOPDTeam Member iv had so many iv lost count,,it can be painful but grit ur teeth if you have to as quicker they can do it the better. the last one i had was great the doc was in and out in seconds and when i complimented on how well he did it he pointed out thats the way they should be done so fingers crossed u get someone with lots of experience..good luck..x
I think you're thinking of carbon dioxide (CO2), and they usually do an arterial blood gas test. It's a needle stick in the wrist, targeting the artery. If done by someone inexperienced, it can be painful. Ask for someone who's done lots of them prior to you!
I only let RT's draw my ABG's. Last one i had done didnt hurt at all. At last weeks labs they tested my co2 with other blood work just to measure in the serum.
@A MyCOPDTeam Member it can also show up in a blood test.
if it's the o2 blood gas test ,it's not really that bad ,its,taken at your wrist,,
