Trelegy And Spiriva
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

Saw in an article from mycopdream that Spiriva can be used as an addition to other meds. Wonder if thst includes Trelegy, which I am presently on but have several spiriva boxes

Trelegy contains a LAMA (like Spiriva), a LABA (like serevent) and an ICS, l(ike budesonide), so it's got everything that is usually prescribed for COPD all in one inhaled med once a day. Taking Spiriva as well as Trelegy would be double dosing on the LAMA; you don't want to do that.

Talk to your pharmacist about the 2 different medications. They are better equipped education wise to talk about drugs. Dr's deal with the illnesses, but pharmacies deal with drugs. I have never had a pharmacy give me wrong info. Plus pharmacies are required to keep up to date on current drugs.

Ask your doctor before you mix any med.

I wouldn't mix the two meds - Trelegy has 3 medications in it there should be no reason to use spiriva....
