Yes but force breath out more air than you breath in to increase volume of lungs as you go. I tailor this idea to my harmonica COPD lessons/therapy. Professor Carl Weber --> (Email address can only be seen by the question and answer creators)

As long as your 02 sats are good you can keep going and you won't do yourself any harm. Find that "sweet spot" where you are sob, but you can keep going and teach yourself to keep going for a long time. It works for long term exercise (30-45 minutes at a time) and helps to increase your endurance and stamina.

I do breathing exercises. If I am have a SOB I will do pursed lipped breathing technique to get my breathing came down.
