It can; sometimes 02 use leads to nose bleeds and sensitive laces where bleeds begin. If you're careful, you can use a q-tip and apply a bit of vaseline, just a swipe along the nose lining, that may help.

Secaras is a water-based ointment that you can buy in any drugstore.

I use Secaras. Dr. told me not to use Vaseline as it is petroleum based and should not be used around O2.. It works great.
