I have been in pulmonary rehab twice a week for about 5 months. I was hesitant at first but now after almost completing the program I found it to be extremely beneficial. If his is something your insurance covers, Go For It! The facility I attended was fantastic, you are monitored when you arrive, O2 level, BP and weighed in :( .You are checked twice more during your session. . A pace is set for you and adjusted according to the severity of your condition. I didn't think I would like it, but⦠read more

I'm very fortunate. The University of Chicago is one of the top hospitals in the country. Back in the 80's I was having upper chest pain and went to the ER. They found bronchiectasis in many areas. The doctors at this hospital recommended surgery to remove parts of the lung with the most damage. I would be off work for a year. My wife and I began researching the condition and found that one of the top docs for it was at the University of Chicago. We went to see him. He couldn't believe the meds⦠read more
It sounds like you are very lucky. I got sick in NYC and was lucky enough to have doctors from NY Presbyterian. The doctor I have now is wonderful and he keeps me out of the hospital.
Grieving is all a part of COPD @A MyCOPDTeam Member.
We lost a very dear friend last month. Since then a few of us got togethor and picked out 2 to 3 people to give our email address to or phone number or both. This way if we dont hear from you in awhile someone has away of checking up on you. I just thought I would bring it to everyones attention in case you might be interested in doing this.
Great idea,I don't always come to this site. This will help people stay in touch,if only to say hi.

@A MyCOPDTeam Member where ? I see no e-mail address anywhere.
I am curious how many of you are taking prednisone on a permanent basis. I, like everyone else used to take prednisone is bursts and only for a flare up. But starting last year my baseline numbers were so consistently low, my pulmonologist determined I need to take it all the time. My current dosage is 20 mg every other day. Prednisone is such a two headed dragon :( It helps with your breathing, but all the side effects! Weight gain, sweating etc.... Tough to deal with.
I am on 5 mg daily also take with azitromician daily really helps me as I do not have flare ups like I use to
I placed an order and received a confirmation number , however, I have not received notice of a shipment.
I read about the product mentioned in a post.
I cannot seem to find contact information except for a mail address.
Thanks for your help
Thank you.
I will e-mail him.
