Does Anyone Know The Difference Between Pulse Dose And Constant Flow Oxygen Concentrators.
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

This has been sitting in the back of my mind and I finally have figured out a question that maybe Jean can answer. We know that the pulse dose portable concentrators actually only deliver 1.2 or 1.5 liters of concentrated 02, and a constant flow up to 5 lpm but what percentage of concentrated 02 does a person actually inhale and use? We know the constant flow is potentially better but how much of the 02 is a person actually using of the constant flow? Of course what setting they are on makes… read more

How To Tell If You Are Having An Episode That Is Severe Enough To Go To ER?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I’m fairly new to all of this…
I have had a couple of episodes that were pretty rough. Tight chest, can’t get air, sweats, nauseous, dry heaves. The excessive heat and humidity triggered them. 🥵
I sat down with cool, wet towel at base of my neck, drank water, did deep breathing.
After about 10 minutes it began to gradually subside. Was scary but I managed it.
How do you know you should really go to the ER??

Does Anyone's Oxygen Plummet With Anxiety Or Even Drop Quickly Just Even Walking Around?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

When I get anxious I go right into bad habit of breathing which lowers the amount of oxygen I am getting. Even just anxious thoughts will as well. I think my COPD has gotten a lot worse in the last year. The anxiety is about real things and the cycle of breathing causes anxiety and then my oxygen is low which causes me to feel more anxiety and is a cycle they see no way out of for me.

When On O2, Do You Place The Nose Inserts That Deliver The O2 Up Or Down?
A MyCOPDTeam Member asked a question 💭

I've been on O2 for 10 years and have always had the nose inserts facing up into my nose. A technician was here to check my O2 machine and told me that was wrong. The inserts should face down. I could feel the coolness of the O2 with them down but seem to get the same O2 readings whichever way I place them. I'm at the scary stage of copd and will appreciate input.
